The increasing demand for sheet steel, produced with a high degree of precision has led to the use of two fully automated decoiling installations which process coils into sheet steel. The decoiling lines process hot rolled coils (black and pickled/oiled) from 2 mm up to and including 21 mm, with a tensile strength to 1000 N/mm2, a yield point of 850 N/mm2 and widths from 800 mm to 2,150 mm. The lines can process 40-tonne coils and to a maximum sheet length of 21 metres. After this, the sheet material is packaged in a fully automatic packaging line.
The lines have a pre-tension levelling machine and two or three tension levelling machines that are equipped with interchangeable cassettes. This concept is extremely important to achieve optimum straightening quality. This allows sheets of the highest quality to be produced with no hidden tensions, optimised for laser or plasma cutting. Moreover, the machine has an edge trimmer that cuts sheets having a thickness of 15 mm to the desired width within very precise tolerances.
